I doubt you can have it made for any less then a Tymar and then you would have to worry about it blowing out. It equalizes the HPO in the heads. SOme claim it helps some say it dont. On mine it ran quiter and little more power.

Make it yourself? sure thing. I have a local hydralic shop that can make it with 5000PSI hose, and even higher for like 20 bucks. I like the idea of a solid line and I think I would be willing to spend the $$ to have the correct fittings, and factory look.

Does it help? I have never heard it did NOT help. Only have heard people say it smoothed out the engine, and some say they get more power. Being as my truck shakes like a gasser with a big cam, I am sure that it should help smooth things out even a little. That is enough for me.

Just because it is 5000 psi hose does not mean it is the right hose. Make sure it is Rated for high temps. Last thing you want is it blow that hose. It makes a huge mess and can cause some damage.

Re: High Pressure Oil Crossover Mod??

Joey. the OBS truck run the HPO line into the oil plug on #3 and #6 cylinders. the SD run them into #3 and #4 cylinders, so the OBS guys just have to take there drivers line and move it forward one port, then they work. but if you are making your own, then YES they are the same, no difference in the plugs, which are actualy a #5 o-ringed plug.

Re: High Pressure Oil Crossover Mod??

ok i stopped at the store tonite and heres a parts list these are all Weatherhead numbers:
c5315x6x5 3/8 male JIC X 5/16 o-ring adapter
06u-686 3/8 JIC 45* female swivel fitting
i used 2 each of these

then i used like 8 or 9 inches of 3/8 double braided hydraulic hose u kinda hafta put the fittings together on the head then measure between them for the proper length of hose

that should be all u need for parts then just move the exisiting drivers side line forward one port and remove the plugs and install the line

anymore questions just let me know

Re: High Pressure Oil Crossover Mod??

That big oil plug behind the alternator started leaking real bad the other day so I replaced it. If I would have done this mod could it have been prevented, sence it equal the pressure I'm guessing? Or I'm I just pulling.

Re: High Pressure Oil Crossover Mod??

i'd doubt it, though im sure someone will disagree. back when i worked for ford i remember that being either a service bulltein or just a common problem for those plugs to leak oil usually it was the back ones though if i remember right

Re: High Pressure Oil Crossover Mod??

Yea usually it is the big ones one the back of the head, at the end of the rails, the ones you cant see or get at very easily. mine leak pretty bad.

So how does it run, ya notice a difference.
