Re: High Pressure Oil Crossover Mod??

How about this one ?

KCM S.S. HPX Line (94-97)

The KCM Stainless Steel High Pressure Crossover (HPX) line connects the driver side and passenger side High Pressure Oil Rails together. This results in a more balanced High Pressure Oil system with fewer pressure spikes (see Injection Control Pressure graphs below). In most trucks, the elimination of ICP spikes and balancing of pressures in the High Pressure Oil Rails will smooth operation and may even quiet the engine somewhat.

The KCM HPX line is constructed from only the highest quality components. Stainless Steel tubing and aircraft quality steel fittings ensure thousands of miles of trouble-free operation. Illustrated installation instructions are also included (click HERE to preview instructions).

KCM offers a 6 month limited warranty on the S.S. HPX line.

Re: High Pressure Oil Crossover Mod??

Guys! Can I please suggest extreme caution here. I too try to save a buck everywher I can. I am always looking for a way to cut out the middle man. But I also have first hand experience with a high pressure oil leak. I had an employee nearly roasted to death by a 2,500 lb hydraulic leak that sprayed on the turbo. There is a thread up on the SD side right now decribing a similar fireball that happened with a HPOP leak. IMO, this is not a place to save a few bucks! I have some experience with selecting hose for use to run engine oil lines on diesel engines. Engine oil deteriorated standard hydraulic hose rapidly. On one application I was forced to replace every year. This is on engine oil running at 30 to 80 psi (Cummins 855). On the HPOP system we are not only running hot engine oil but we are running it at high pressure (3,000) and with a lot of pressure impulses. At a minimum I would recomend a hose at least the same quality as the OEM. There is a lot more to this than just the pressure and burst ratings of the hose. Why not let some else assume th resonsibility to do the research on the long term use of the hose?
It's not worth being stranded or at worst burning your truck down. I'm planning to replace my original HPOP hoses as a preventative measure before placing any more demand on them. After all 10 years is a good life for any hose. Will the hose you made up last 10 years?
