just got my gauges, tymar intake, and 4 inch exhaust installed, no chip yet, still waiting for that to get here, and I'm getting around 18-20 psi when I hammer on it. Is this a normal psi range? theres no other engine mods. I did get more boost pressure, and top end pull after I put the exaust on, egt's where lower too. Oh and I can hear the turbo more now
Thats normal, I noticed you had 4" exhaust, did you also replace the stock DP? If you have not, then you could get more by replacing it.
sorry just noticed the DIY E-brake

I was getting 17 max with everything stock. After my mods below, I am getting around 23.
I'd like to see what you get after the chip is installed. I am not sure if my programmer is giving me what I want, although I do get lots of black smoke.

since we are on boost numbers i was wondering if this sounds about right . with my ats ic it would make 33-36psi and now with my superduty ic i am lucky to see 32psi . i know the volume of the pipes and the ic is much larger now but i just want someone to tell that these # are normal . thanks andy

Andy, it not uncommon to see around 3-5 lbs drop in pressure with the larger cooler over the stock obs set-up. The temp loss across the cooler is the reason. But that in itself is a good thing. That means you are getting cooler, denser air with more 0xygen.....cooler air=less pressure....
thanks for the reply . i really was not that worried about it because the truck runs the same as it did with the smaller i/c . but when i saw the post about boost #s i thought i would ask . once again thanks andy

If your new intercooler is working better than you will get MORE air at less pressure. Remember, its air you want -- boost pressure is just a means to push the air in. The colder the air the more actual molecules will be pushed through the intake valves at a given pressure.
