How is Bean to deal with?

How close is he on the completion dates? I am not good with waiting, especially after a date I am told, so I am just curious on your experiences. Just trying to pass time while waiting for my stage 1's from him.

Re: How is Bean to deal with?

He was right on time with me when he rebuilt my injectors to stage 1's. That was 16 months ago. BTW, have 42k on these injectors, no problems. He was also helpful with a problem I thought I was having with my chip, after the sale.

Bean is great to deal with. He is always there to help if you have issues, even much after the sale. Everything I have bought has been on time.

Re: How is Bean to deal with?

I am sorry if it has taken longer then what you were told, we try to make a best geuss estimate on time frames but things do happen to put a kink in that such as the flow bench going down, more orders then expected at that time, etc... We are very busy currently (think its tax return time) and apologize for any inconvience for holding you up.

Re: How is Bean to deal with?

I seriously doubt that you will find better customer support anywhere else. I had purchased a chip from another vender and immediately sent it to Ryan for a reflash and a set of Stage 1s. After installing the chip and injectors I had a problem. The selector knob would be in position #2 for instance, but when I started the truck it would start up in maybe the #5 position and it wouldn't switch to any other program regardless of the knob's position. Ryan told me that my warranty from the selling vender was voided because he (Ryan) had reflashed it. I wasn't aware of the warranty been voided until Ryan told me about it. And it was just one of those things that a vender doesn't think about, so Ryan certainly could not be faulted for it in any way, as far I as I concerned. But Ryan offered to replace the chip even though I bought it somewhere else. I wasn't to keen on that. I certainly didn't want to buy another chip, but on the other hand I didn't feel that it was Ryan's responsibility either. It was just one of those unpleasant situations that happen from time to time. He kept offering to replace it and I wasn't ready to give up on it yet, and luckily I discovered that the problem was that I had tightened the nut on the switch too tight and that was causing the contacts inside the switch to make contact with each other somehow creating the faulty condition.

So to make a short story long, you can see from my example that he is a stand up guy. You can't go wrong with dealing with Ryan Bean.

Re: How is Bean to deal with?

He is great to deal with, I sent him my injectors on a wednesday I also ordered a Tymar and a 6 position chip and by the following Tuesday everything was waiting for me on my porch when I got home. I put it back together wednesday night after work and have not had a problem, 17k since injector rebuild. Also bought a IDM and after I returned the core I had a check for the core charge in my mailbox in 2 or 3 days. Good Luck

Re: How is Bean to deal with?

I think Ryan is one of the finest people I've ever done business with. Two years ago he FedEx'd me a single stock injector (emergency repair), which arrived the next day, for dirt cheap. A few months later I bought Stage 1s, which were all I was told they'd be.

Last month I was in TN (GF's Dad passed away), and en route back to Ohio I decided to detour to Bean's. I called ahead and asked if he had the time to see me, and Bean said "sure, c'mon over". When I arrived I described the miss I heard, we talked a bit, then he grabbed his scanner and we went out to my truck. He scanned the engine both parked and underway, buzz test, contribution, everything. He then gave me a tour of the shop, his latest projects (one is going to be spooky fast when he's finished), and then refused to charge me when I offered to pay for his time. I will happily spend more at Bean's when I can afford to do so, and would encourage anyone to patronize his shop.

Josh

PS: Jonathan Ryan at Swamp's is every bit as stand-up-guy as Ryan; met him a couple of years ago at his shop in TN, and he took all the time needed to answer a bunch of questions, showed me around, etc.

PPS: Hey Bean - the miss turned out to be a VC gasket with a VERY small distortion in the plastic between the GP pin and the adjacent inj pin. I swapped it out today (first sunny 60*+ day when I didn't have to be elsewhere) and in the sun could see a crack between pins 1 and 2. HOLY COW - when it runs on all eight it RUNS like a striped-assed ape.

Re: How is Bean to deal with?

I too have to wait for my Stage 1s....but in all fairness, if he is waiting for cores....not much he can do but wait...When he got them...they went out almost immediately. Gauges are in...but still waiting for the injectors. UPS is the problem for me...Not BEAN'S....but think of it this way...good things come to those who wait.

Re: How is Bean to deal with?

I cannot say enough about Bean! I was leaning over his mechanic's (Buck's) shoulder bugging him the whole time they were installing my injectors, consiquently neither of us noticed that a copper crush washer had been left in. After I got home I popped an injector O-ring.

Bean walked me through the injector removal on the phone, and then promptly sent me a refund for his labor and even tossed in 20 bucks for the new parts I needed! If I hadn't been back in MD, I'm sure he would have done the work himself free of charge.

I have never dealt with a more honest and helpful person in the performance industry, ever.

Re: How is Bean to deal with?

Bean was awesome to deal with. If I remember my fuel system was a little late on delivery(wanted all ss lines). But it was well worth the wait.Even contacted me after the fire to see what he could do.As far as the other guy in Tenn.(joanthan)well everyone is intitled to their opinion. Re: How is Bean to deal with?

Well he is not waiting for cores for mine, since he has mine, the thing that is getting to me is I was told they would be done appox. the March 19. I called on the 19 was told 1 more day, not a problem sounded good, I called back on the 22 was told again 1 more day sorry,ok I understand things go wrong. But then I call on the 26 again told 1 MORE DAY, now 1 more day is getting old just want to know WHEN!!! Glad to hear your good stories hopefully mine tuns that way soon. All I want is to be told the truth if there is a problem or if they are waiting on something I think that is what they should tell me. I will keep you informed what happens.
