How much fuel does the Areomotive pumps really move?

Book says the A-1000 moves 500 lbs per hour.
The A-2000 moves 350 gallons per hour.
Why would it be rated in lbs/hr? How does this convert to Gallons?
Thanks.

The A-1000 will feed 400cc B-Code injectors with a 1 psi pressure drop at WFO.

Re: How much fuel does the Areomotive pumps really move?

Water is 8lbs per gallon. Diesel is lighter than water. I thought 7~7.3lbs per gallon was usually used per gallon.
This means that 500 lbs/hour = 71.4gal/hr = 1.19gal/min.

Hey, if I saw it on the web, it must be true!!!

Re: How much fuel does the Areomotive pumps really move?

Jim
The specific gravity of diesel is about 0.78 - 0.79.
Standard water is 1.0

That means a gallon of diesel weighs in the neighborhood of 6.5 lbs.

The lbs per hour stuff is a mass flow for the convenienece of people
wanting to know that without density corrections so to speak.

At standard conditions, and hip-pocket calculations, mass and gallons are convertable.

Have had an A1000 Aeromotive sitting on my workbench now for a year, so it looks like it should handle my injectors just fine then!
Need a turbo first though!

Thanks Jon..

Re: How much fuel does the Areomotive pumps really move?

Keep in mind, the A-1000 is not warranted for use in diesel fuels.

Re: How much fuel does the Areomotive pumps really move?

I've had mine in for 3 years, 60,000 miles, and from -10 to 110 temp.
I've never had any problems and if they can fuel 400cc's I should be just fine.
