Re: How to shim the fuel pressure Reg!!

this is off memory so work with me. On the front drivers side of the fuel bowl theres a big brass bolt, I think its like 13mm or something un bolt that, pull the parts out in order, i believe its the bolt, spring and then with a very clean magnet pull out the triangle piece that the spring goes in. Some place a bb in the spring side of the triangle piece then put the spring in, I used a calculator screw cause it put me to 65-70psi where the bb put me at 80, and 60 ish is where you want to be make sure not to use zinc coated bb. hope that helps also make sure the triangle chingadare sets inside, you ll know if it doesnt.

Re: How to shim the fuel pressure Reg!!

You could do a 10k mod, Ive never done one so youd have to do a new post, but for that you should most likely have gauges. if your looking for some economic, safe a diy kind of stuff, google Steve Baz his page is awesome I think it even has the 10k stuff in it. Its all powerstroke stuff.

Re: How to shim the fuel pressure Reg!!

Big Dan97, can you elaborate more on why 80 is bad? I would have thought the more pressure the better. I'd like to shim after I get the injectors in. =]

Re: How to shim the fuel pressure Reg!!

Hello again Brad, I dont think 80 is necessarily bad, its just that all you need is to be at 60ish to get full potential from the injectors so thats what the aim is, maybe one of the more knowledgable members will know exactly why.
