HPOP drainback question

When you bolt on a 17*pump to a factory 95 powerstroke motor everyone says the resevoir will bleed off.My question is what is different from the stock 15* pump and the superduty 17* pump that creates this bleed off issue?

Re: HPOP drainback question

there's a anti drain valve in teh pump, teh diff is the cover, rather thanthe valve in teh pump they re-configuired the cover so it can not drain off. There is a cheap fix that you have to drill some holes adn add a line

[/ QUOTE ]Actually, there is another way. I can pull the internals out of an SD pump, and install them into a 94-95 body. Problem solved.

Re: HPOP drainback question

Are there any special tools or parts required to pull the guts out of the 17* pump and putting them in the 15* housing?

Re: HPOP drainback question

I have a fix that is based on the one from 94f450sd. He and I worked on a How-to and I posted it. You can just follow the link in my sig. Several people have done this with no problems at all. difficulty level is from 1 being tightening a screw and 10 being rebuilding the engine, I would rate it between a 3 and 4.
