Hydroboost PS pump

I recently installed a hydroboost setup on my truck --brakes work great now -pedal is a little harder to push but I know its gonna stop. My question at idle the pump sounds like a swarm of bees.I guess i need a new pump==which one should i get .
thanks,
steve

Re: Hydroboost PS pump

Cant help you on the pump but id love to hear more about the hydroboost upgrade. What parts you used? Where you got em? Did you take any pics of the installed system?

Thanks!

Re: Hydroboost PS pump

You are going to need the rod that sticks out of the booster from a hydroboost. I used a 97 f550 booster I found on Car-part.com for $100. Pedal feels harder, but has way more stopping power. My main complaint was the "feel" of the pedal at idle. I can feel the pump thru the pedal. I used my 95 pump and added a T fitting in the return line, if I did it again I would switch to the SD pump and resivour. Worth the time and effort for sure.

Re: Hydroboost PS pump

A friend of mine has a Super Duty and doesn't much care for his hydroboost brakes. He says he hates the fact that he has to choose between brakes or steering. Does anyone know whether or not we can upgrade to 99 and up Super Duty parts?
