Improved Ride!!

Hey Guys,
I had 33" Bf Goodrich tires and my rig rode like hell. I just put on toyo open country 35" tires and I feel like I'm driving a redneck cadillac! With some Billsteins, I'll be set!

If you have a 4x4 try a RS kit and SD springs to vastly improve the ride!

Hello-
I have a 97 F350 with a 4inch block lift. it rides terrible and I am looking for a low cost, yet quality fix. I have heard a lot about the reverse shackle system and Super Duty springs....Are people just using super duty springs from the junk yard or buying after market? Also, does this affect my towing capacity?

Thanks-
Adam

I bought my front springs form the guy that I bought the Dan 60 from (junk yard) and my rear SD springs came from a guy that put a air system in. My capacity went up since I put in 350 springs, the truck will squat about 1 1\2 with my 9500lbs camper, then I just hit the in cab switches to add some air to my bags and I'm good to go. I cant stand the nose pointing up, not to mention the lights blind on coming traffic. Good luck

Frank

Frank,
I have been talking to GNXTC (also in Jersey) about his superduty / RSK set-up. He claims the ride is incredible. I believe most lean to buying all new parts. I need new rear shackle mounts so I'm going to do this all at once.

Listen very closely to what this man tells you. Cary is "THE OBS SUSPENSION GURU!" Cary just finished doing a complete '08 suspension under an OBS truck that is as slick a set up as you'll ever see.

He can be contacted here:

Did Cary build this twisted bronco? That's just plain amazing! But his 08 suspension conversion is bad to the bone!

Nice work, Cary!

Technically you didnt raise your gvw at all since there is no difference between 250 and 350 rear springs If anything i think you lowerer it buy using SD springs. My 97 SRW 350 wouldn't move when i put the goosneck trailer on it. My 00 dually dropped about 1.5-2" withe the trailer.. The SD springs ride nicer but i dont think they have the weight carring capacity of the old springs. O and my 97 had 150k of hauling a trailer and the 00 had brand new sprigs

The reason it didn't move is the OBS top overloads are almost touching with the truck empty unlike the SD which has to drop 2"+- to bring them into effect. The SD top overload spring is also longer and such gives a softer ride quality. When you use SD springs you keep your top overload...unless you want the SD one which requires you to relocate the frame stops.

Botom line both will carry the same weight its when they start is the difference.

Thats the thing. my 97 didn't have overloads. And that was just empty. Loaded the SD squated ALOT. The 97 just kinda sat there
