I installed a 3 position chip from T. Wildman (Econo, Tow, Xtreme) on Saturday and am VERY VERY happy with it...but have a couple of ?'s.
1) When I switch from Econo - Xtreme, or Tow - Xtreme the WTS light comes on and the truck kind of stumbles for a second them evens back out...is that normal?
2) Today when I was showing my Roommate my new found power, we got on the freeway (in Xtreme), took it up to about 2500-2700 in 4th, shifted into 5th and put the pedal all the way down. I was trying to watch my boost and EGT gauges while merging into traffic. EGT's hit 1200 for a second and boost I think hit around 23-24 lbs @ 75 mph. I let off and when I looked down I had a CEL. Got off freeway, turned truck off and turned it back on, CEL gone. Didn't seem to run any different when it was on (the CEL). What causes this? Too much boost? HPOP?
Get a HPOP pressure guage and check your #'s first, make sure thats the problem. What other mods are you thinking about??, injectors, turbo ect. I would base you decision on which HPOP on you future mods if any.

Some days i can set a CEL others i can't. I know my is ICP pressure above/below desired. Get your guy at work to scan it, even though the light is off, the code is still stored in the computer.

If you go through the hassle, definately a SD HPOP. I know eventually you'll do injectors. I would guess a SD HPOP is $200 plus an IPR. More if new, less if you find a great deal.

You can use the old IPR (unless it's from a super early one like 94...I think).
For $200 expect a used pump, though.
