Interior Trim

I see some of you guys have the silver/gray tim that runs along the top of the door panels, top of the dah and across the intrument cluster. Is that stock or did it come as an option?Mine is all black and I want to wake up my dash with some color.I thought about some type of grey tape but if it comes off easily I can paint it.How does it come off?I've had my door panels off but not my cluster or upper right side dash.Any pointers?TIA,Calvin

Re: Interior Trim

The older trucks (i think pre-96) have the grey time, 96 & 97 have black . The trim just pops off...held on with little clips...just gently pry it and it'll come off.

Re: Interior Trim

'94 XLT definitely has the silver. Uncertain about '95. Pieces to the left and right of the steering wheel are about $15 each from Ford. Never replaced the big piece. I believe you have to get a whole door panel to get trim on the doors. Could be wrong. Drivers XLT panel ran me about $200 4 years ago.

Re: Interior Trim

My truck is a 96 it has black trim around the dash and door panels. I pulled the dash pieces off and shaved the XLT letter on the pass. side and then painted the pieces the same color red as the exterior of the truck!!! I plan on doing the door trim the same way but it involves removing the door panels because on the 94 and up models the trim on the doors cannot be removed like years prior ( my 93 f-150 race truck has the removable trim) there are plastic tabs on the backside of the door panel trim that are mushroomed to prevent the trim from coming off what you do is take a dremel tool with a grinding disc and remove the mushroom ends and the trim will come off, then paint whatever color you desire, then reinstall and use a plastic welder with an ABS rod and recreate that mushroom end!!!!!

Sorry for the long post!!!!

Later,

DEVLYN

I have a set of silver XLT dash trim if interested pm me!!!!!
