I have an isspro trans temp guage on my 97. It works every morning but after a while it just goes dead. the lights always work but it doesnt always give me a reading. Usually it on trips for more than an hour. I have the probe on the left side of the tranny where a pipe plug was. any idea one why it stops workin?

Hi mstng5point0,
First thing to do is the obvious. Check the wires on the amp box. Although rare, they can come loos. If that's not what the prob is, then I'd say the amp box is starting to go bad. If you can, try this: When the gauge goes dead, jump the orange wires (sensor wires) at the amp box. When the gauge is powered up, the needle should jump up to 130 or 140 (if you have a 100-280F gauge). Then the needle will fall right back down. If the gauge does jump up like this, then the sensor could be bad. If not the amp box is bad. Either way, you might be in luck. The ISSPRO EV gauges have a 1 year warranty as of jan 2008. Prior to that they had a 2 year warranty. If you bought the gauge from us, give us a call next week and we'll see what we can do.

Oh, the lighting is a totally seperate circuit, so if the gauge lighting works, that does not mean anything with regards to the function.
