What do I need for a 6" lift to work right?

Whats better shackle lift or Spring Lift?

If your keeping the D50 then your options are very limited and the ride won't be much better than what you have now.

You will need 6" springs, a Super Lift superrunner steering system etc. It will never be "right" IMO that D50 just sucks.

Price out doing it both ways..may not be that much more going a D60..if you buy one for the right $$

Best..D60 and SD 4" Icon springs with a 3" RS kit...rides great!

lol, caryt getting carried away again, lol.
Why do you think i ditched that POS TTB, and got a locked kingpin 60? lol

Are them Icon springs SD? Whats so good about using the RS along with springs?
I assume u mean the Sky manufactured RSK not the ORU one, right?

busted..didn't read throughly. Ok once again without going to SD springs the truck will not ride much better especally if you use lift springs, then it will ride worse.

Reason..OBS springs locate the axel 4" off center, springs don't work properly that way..Ford fixed this stupid mistake in 99..and put the movable shackel where it belongs. The movable shackel has to be in the rear so the axel will naturally move up and back as it goes over a bump..not up and forward like a stock OBS does

Softest ride is..RS kit with V codes. Lifted higher , Icon or Deaver springs then anyone elses.

I say use Skys over ORU..note! I have ORU's ..Sky didn't make them when I did mine. Skys design is better made IMO.

hmm, well i think that SKY kit is probably what i'll end up doing.
When i bout the truck it was lifted with an add-a-leaf so im not real sure how tall the front or rear is, theyre both just add-a-leafed.
How should i lift the rear, i was thinking of just going with 6" rear lift springs,

Btw what size tires would make the truck look right? and how big of tires could i get under the truck with a 8" lift?

Yea,go w/a lift spring and keep the rear blocks to a minimum.I'm right at about 8" and running 38 x 15.5s on 12" wide wheels. If I get it REALLY twisted up I can touch the fronts to the fenders. Got pics in my sig.

whered you pick up the Atlas springs Brian?

How do you measure a lift? cause I've noticed some folks having liftspring of a certain lift but they usually quote their lift like 2" lower.

So what size tires would work on a 6" lift, id like to lift the truck really high, but i also like my speed, lol.

For tire size,it depends on what you do w/the truck. I could fit 42s on mine but only if it stayed on the street. If you're going to wheel it hard, prob narrow 36s-37s would be max. A narrow tire on a 10' wheel will be less of a prob up front. Hitting the lift height that you want takes a little trial and error unless you but a complete kit from an aftermarket company. You might have to remove some leaves or install some 1" blocks to get it where you want it in the end . Can't rem how I got in touch w/Atlas. I prob still have the phone # if you want it.

well im trying to figure out if i want to leave the springs i have now with add-aleafs and get the sky Front RSK and then their rear shackle drop kit, which would give me 4.5". I dont know how much lift my add-a-leafs add, all i know is my 35"s up front are alright off-road but theres only 4" between the top of the tire and the bottom of the fender (top part)
Im also trying to decide if just going with a 6" front spring would be alright since new springs and the RSK are almost the same price.
