MBRP Turbo back ALuminzed

Well Got two weeks on the truck after install, and once the ECM was able to reprogram itself WOW what a difference. Will say it was a pain in the butt doing it by yourself, and unless you got four arms buy a case of beer and have a friend come over.

Even by myself it only took about 3 hours. I think about 2 hours if i had a helper

How much trouble was the MBRP system to install, What model year.
I'm thinking/leaning about a MBRP for my 97 reg. cab. Investigating the Hypermax systerm, requires more firewall mods then I prefer. Does the MBRP have a 1 or 2 piece down?

Thanks, Ken

Ken - Any of the aftermarket down pipes are 2 piece. It is the only way to get them in without pulling the engine or pulling the cab off the frame. As well, all aftermarket down pipes will require about the same level of firewall modifications as any other. 3 inches is 3 inches no matte who is making the pipes and you need to create clearance to get a 3 inch upper section between the engine and the firewall.

However, the modifications are not all that "major". You really only need to bend the weld seam where the floorpan meets the firewall. I sell 3 inch, 3x3.5 inch, and 3x4 inch, and the installation for the upper 3 inch section requires the exact same level of modification to the firewall. If you wish, give me your email and I can send you installation instructions and you can browse through them and see if you feel like tackling the job.

Dale,
Thanks for the info, I talked to a several manufactures, each had a different approach to their installing methods, which brought raised eyebrows. I’d like to drop the cat.
I can be reached @ ken.mcdonald@avlna.com.

Thanks again.

Check your email, I sent you the instructions this morning. I sent the instructions for the 3" down pipe. Both the 3x3.5", 3x4", and 3" utilize the same procedure for the upper section. But, if you are planning to do the MBRP system you will get a 3". Hope that helps.
