I was doing some browsing about trans and while I dont need a trans as of yet I will soon as I add my Stage 2 injectors. From what I gather here BTS is the best, but how does the Monsterbox and Suncoast compare to each other. The suncoast is about $1000 cheaper than the monsterbox from what I seen searching, but does it come with a converter for that?I just want to be ready for whats to come soon !!!
I have the monsterbox. I love it. I went with the MB because of the local warrenty. BTS trans IS better I just live too far away to have problems fixed. I wouldnt think that I would have any problems with the BTS trans but since the monsterbox is good I feel better knowing I can have it worked on at my local shop that I have been using and know they do a good job. I will be upgrading to stage1s and feel confident that this trans will hold up to whatever I plan on doing.I dont know if this helps but I'll put you back at the top. kevin

97, here's the breakdown as I see it since I had to face the decision of an aftermarket tranny less than a thousand miles after adding just a chip.
With the overwhelming support from this forum of BTS owners, hands down, dollar for dollar, you get your monies worth. BTS is good as it gets no questions asked.
Monsterbox, the way to go for someone in my situation that got blindsided by the stock tranny upchucking just weeks after spending a few thousand in upgrade parts and very litlle funds left for a new tranny. I'm a little suspicious still of the situation of the Greg Evans/ Jasper tranny deal. My first one came apart before 1200 miles, the second one has been absolutely flawless and I now have 40,000 miles on it and I'm just starting this week on the second year of the 2 year warranty If you can install it yourself AND ONLY BUY IT THRU BOB RILEY @ DIESELSITE this is the tranny to go with. Price, free shipping on jaspers trucks to your door, free core pickup, and Bob's unbelievable service if you have any problems and/or fine tuning of the valve body for shifting. Talk to Bob indepth about the monsterbox, he'll tell you straight up where it stands in the market place. There has been a lot of rumors over the last year both good and bad......
Suncoast, there has been both good and bad postings, as you well know your gonna read WAY more bad reports because people are trying to figure out where it went wrong....so with that said I lean toward it being a good buy for the money spent, but do they stand behind their products when there are problems? There is just not alot of info out today about the suncoast, maybe there will be after your thread....
Hey guys, I would also like to know about the suncoast, as I need a trans very badly, limping this thing around until my Dad says OK sucks, he never fixes anything until it breaks, he seems to think it's all in my head, LOL. I'm paying for my trans, it's just that he won't let me get one until I drop the pan in the road down at college!
But anyways, does the suncoast come with a converter for the $2,500? that I have seen it marked at? I see it comes with a trans cooler. To me I would think that it includes a converter, but I need to know for sure. As far as the Monsterbox, I would like to hear about it too.
Thanks,
Dave

BTS, hands down! Great transmission and great people to work with. I cut corners on my previous tranny, and I will not do that again. My new project will get one too, when the stocker fails.

Like mentioned I would love a BTS but were in the northeast is a dealer.Im not driving to arkansas to get it installed.
You may want to find your local 4x4/tranny shop(s) and see if they can get a BTS from Brian, do the swap for you and send the core back. If they don't know what a BTS transmission is, then you should look for a shop that does. You don't get if you don't ask. I was very very lucky that Rockin S Performance was only about a mile from where I work and he handled it all.
Just a thought
PS I had considered both the Suncoast and Monsterbox when my tranny went out. After doing the $$$$ figuring, I opted for the BTS. You might pay a couple/few hundred more, but knowing you have the best is well worth the extra cash. If you're worried about price, go back to a Ford stocker for $2800 (just kidding), but I think either the Suncoast or Monsterbox will only save you $400-$500 max over a BTS.

Yes a BTS is better..spend your $$$ once or twice its up to you. Have it sent to ya and do the install yourself, took me 6 hours to change mine cause Ford red locktighted all the bolts

The suncoast does not come with a convereter for $2,500.00 the monster box does but it is Price
the difference is the price between a monster box and suncoast is the price on the converter. however the monster box includes shipping and the suncoast does not. give us a call as we sell both.

I have a friend that I turned onto Suncoast TC. He's had nothing but problems ever since he put it into his truck. I hear good things about their TC for Dodge, but this doesn't help us. I'd either buck up and go to BTS or a Monster, but steer clear of suncoast.
