Losses:
less weight
Your hearing (what?) LOL
Gains:
Not much the mbrp muffler is fairly open. and your not producing a lot of power.
Some more noise.

But if you must put a peace of pipe in where the muffler is and see for your self.

Aftermarket mufflers flow pretty good. Only thing you really get from no muff is a killer turbo sound. Personally Im an aircraft mechanic, a turbine engine mechanic at that. Im already deaf =). Between my powerstroke running strait and my buddies 12v cummins running strait one of our nabors didnt like it at 5am when we went to PT. But that was only one guy all the other nabors love it... lol I like hearing the truck my car is much louder and it has mufflers.

Ya the turbine is in the flow and does dampen the noise some.

I think in the long haul the muffler is a better deal.

I did run the engine right after insalling the down pipe by its self. Would be great if I was still a kid ( Look At Me! ) loud. Running the plumbing out the back is better. I have heard trucks around here with straight pipes. From a distants it tolerable. I don't know what the in cab experience would be. (huh? What did you say?) loud? Long trip anoying? Give you a head ake?

Try it with the delete pipe and let us know.

What I don't like about running muffler-less is exhaust flutter. I installed the shortest Dynomax bullet muffler which took care of the flutter.

What's flutter? I just bought a truck a couple of weeks back and didn't even realize it didn't have a muffler until I was poking around underneath. Yes, it was running.
