Amberjax,

I would start by going to a 4" exhaust cat back or other. Towing in OD is not bad unless it is going in and out 3-4 then just shift down. Mt Hood is a good pull for me and it was hitting the 1200 temp and slowing way down for the temp. A few months ago I finished putting in the intercooler. Runs way cooler and I don't have to back off. No going over 1000 now unless I realy push it and then it is no no more that 1050. I was a great way to go for me since I mostly pull with this truck.

Intercooler dropped my EGT's about 150-200 degrees. But as stated before i lost 1-2 pounds of boost.

Losing pounds of boost is not a problem! The real objective is NOT pounds of boost but molecules of air entering the cylinders. Since the air that enters your cylinders is denser if cooled your probably have a net gain even though pressures are lower with the intercooler

Don in Austin.
