Need a Turbo

Well I didnt make it home from Leadhill, AR. In Bethany ,MO I killed the turbo. I was pulling a 7000# trailer going 75 MPH and EGT was 1100-1200 sometimes going up to but not passing 1350. Driving down the road my truck started to sound like it had a roots style supercharger that deep grunt that one gives next thing I know I hear what sounds like a rock going down a metal pipe and lots of white smoke. I pulled the Y-pipe off and no metal in the motor just lots of oil. It starts and does not smoke with the Y-pipe off. I still havent pulled off the down pipe I am waiting till the truck gets home. So it looks like a new turbo and an intercoller are on my list now. So any sugestions? I was seeing roughly 35-38#'s of boost. is that too much for the stock motor? I need help and I need to figure out what I'm going to do. Oh just did a BTS trans and Beans Stage II's.

How much $$? I have heard of a few guys with Superduties actually take the BB off, as they found it too noisy, but I've never heard one...so, what do they sound like guys?

Re: Need a Turbo

Dale, they a actually sound pretty good on the OBS. The SD's are practically in your dash, might be why they are a little louder in the cab. If the whistle gets on your nerves, roll the windows up.

Re: Need a Turbo

I would call Bean and ask about his new turbo...direct bolt on . Or get a H2e. I didn't see that you have studs...might put that on your list

Re: Need a Turbo

I've been in several SD's with BB turbos. I like the sound. It sounds just like your in an airplane.
