Here's the lastest pics of the most recent upgrades. New Center line 17x9 Wilderness Scout wheels, McGard lug nuts, BFG 315/70R17 ATs and I removed that ugly uneven black and chrome moulding strip from the side. There's a couple of pics of the 215 amp alternator installed too.

looks good!!! especially with the moulding gone...
what kinda project was that? hows it come off

I did it on a cold day after a few cans of liquid courage....
The cold seemed to harden the adhesive. I just started carfully pulling on one end and when it started to lift, I just pulled hard and fast like ripping of a band-aide. There was a very small amount of the adhesive tape left at either end which I just rubbed off with the end of my finger.
My only concern was that the level of force required to pull the off was enough that if the underlying paint was not strong enough, it would peel off with the moulding or even cause a wave in the sheet metal. I was lucky but I think next time I would heat up the panel with a heat gun to loosen the adhesive before I pulled them all off.
To finish I just buffed the side with a buffing wheel to get rid of the remaining dirt and build up.
I'm really glad I did it, the truck has a much cleaner look.

E-bay. I had been looking for awhile, and got a new (not reman) one with the wiring harness for around $250. It wasn't the correct harness, but I thought it was still a good deal.
Cheers...

Wow. Nice looking rig! I've always wondered how easy it was to remove the side moldings & what it would look like afterwards.
Good job.
