Nice job.
Looks similar to my set up except mine is mounted on the outside
of the frame under driver door and is mounted horizontally.
Cheers.

yeah it filters down to 1 micron and gets out the carbon and other particles that the factory oil filter doesnt. it also extends oil change intervals. anthony

Re: oil bypass installed. pics if anybody wants to see.
Looks Good! I built the same system for my 96' that I sold a few years back. I went to my local truck parts shop and got a B164 Baldwin filter and the Baldwin by-pass filter base ($25-$30). I think the filters where like $8 bucks a piece. Then I went to my local hardware shop and got all the fittings and bolts to mount it. I went to a hydraulic shop and got some hoses made up...about $50 bucks. I guess the entire kit cost me like $100 bucks. I made the mounting brkt. out of scrap.
I havn't yet built one for my Excursion or F350. Eventually!
I did a bunch of research on the Baldwin B164 filter and I'll see if I can find it and post it on here. I replaced my full flow every 5k and my bypass every 10k...I had my oil analysis done ~every 20k and it was always good.

what did ya use for restriction?
What befalls the oil presure?
How about a parts list?
Are you going to have your oil tested?
What do you do about anti foaming additives?
I've thought this would be a great thing to have but the price of a store bought unit is out of range right now. This might make it possible.
Sorry for all the questions but this is the life blood of our engines and any mistake could be fatal.

i have gone as far as 7k miles with no system b4 an oil change. i dont unerstand the oil pressure question but i have not seen a drop in oil pressure. i am going to have the oil tested at 7k and see what it is at. i know i have to add anti foaming additaves but im not shure at what point i will have to do that. regardless of oil test i will change the oil at 10k if it will go that long. if it is good i might try to extend the next one till 15k if tests are good. oh i will try to put together a parts list and post it. anthony

Re: oil bypass installed. pics if anybody wants to see.
Anthony, I never did add any additive. I replaced the oil every 5k so the levels in my opinion where fine. Plus the analysis I would get from time to time checked out fine.... I also tried the Amsoil synthetic trending thing with the extended oil drains and after about two years...Lets just say it wasn't for me.
I switched back to SuperTech from Walmart and continued with oil analysis from Amsoils labs for another two years. They said the oil was fine and no signs of premature wear so I continued to use it. Now my Walmart never seams to have it in so I by the RotellaT.
Re: oil bypass installed. pics if anybody wants to see.
I would just take a sample at 5k and send it out to be checked. I installed a test valve on the side of the oil filter housing. I wouldn't take the sample from the pan since it most likely it will give a faulse reading. I would start it up run for about 15 min on high idle...Shut it off and open valve then the oil would come out in a more controlable fashion...Basically I'm draining it from the oil cooler housing...I've have made the driveway pretty messy a few times before I figured this way will work.
