Power Strokes 1994-1997 Upgrades and AftermarketUpgrading or adding OEM or aftermarket equipment to your 1994-1997 Ford F-Series with Power Stroke engine.
Sheesh.... I didnt think anyone ever dug that deep into the old writeups. There are actually two of them writeups in there, One for IDI's and one for PSD. I think one of them has the part number.
I also seem to remember that I didnt work all that well. Better than the idiot gauge we have, but not by much.
I've know about it for a long time, like since I joined. I was gonna try it and see how well it did. Like you said better than the idiot light and I won't have to buy another gauge and mount it
I just found it again befor this post, and I was also wondering how does it act if I don't do the jumper right away?
I wouldn't bother. I did it and the range isn't that great and doesn't match well with the factory gauge. I ended up getting a real gauge (and then got rid of it too). Cheers!
Sorry for the tardiness! When I did it the gauge would be pegged when cold, and maybe only have a range of 1/2 to 3/4 scale when at normal temps (if I'm remembering correctly). That may be good enough for some folks (and it's a bit better than the factory setup). There was quite a bit of discussion on this "back-in-the-day" on the forums. I don't think anyone ever found a pressure transducer that had the required range to suit the factory gauge. Cheers!

I guess if the gauge reads you have enough pressure. Seems like enough info to me.

Thats all I'm after. I have a 0-100psi mechanical gauge I bought from Autozone and it will reach 100psi while cold at higher rpms, but when it warms up and the oil thins out it will read less. just like you described.
