oil and smoke after injector install. Not black smoke either
I just got done buttoning up my motors after installing my diy injectors. I trying starting my truck it took awhile to get it running. Battery low ect, but got it started with a huge cloud of white smoke didnt think anything about it. Had it running for about 10 min motor sounds good. But every time I reved it up, Nothing crazy less then 2000rpm you get white smoke again. Still really dont think awhole lot about it. Figgure its building a little heat and burnin the oil out/ off what ever you want to call it. Then I looked at the floor and saw a puddle of oil about a foot wide coming out my exhaust. My exhaust is strait dump in front of rear axle, so if it comes down the downpipe is going to hit the floor. When I was finshed puting in the injectors. I turned the motor over by hand with all glow plugs out to get the oil out of the cyclinders. but not all cyclinder shot oil out. So after that I hit the key and turned the motor over a couple time with the starter to make sure all the oil got out of the cyclinders. My question is could the cyclinders that didn't shoot oil out the glowplug hole maybe shot it out the exhaust valves, or do you think I have some other problem? The motor sounds fine when running, but I shut it down as soon as I saw the oil on the ground.
Thanks for the help guys,
Rusty

that is normal. when i did mine i drove down the road a ways, stopped to check things over and my tailgate and right side of the bed had been oil blasted (i have 1 stack). it also smoked that night after that short trip(4 miles) and some idling and even some for a few miles the next morning. have fun with those injectors, i sure am. Re: oil and smoke after injector install. Not black smoke either
Thanks I kind of figgured it was. I usally dont get to excited. But I just never heard of that. The smoke didnt scare me it was the oil. But I figgure with most people exhaust they either have over the axle pipe or stacks. I though maybe it just collected it and didnt let it hit the ground.
Thanks again,
Rusty
