Awhile ago, I scored a set of injectors on E-bay "Buy in Now" for $99, I think it was back in 2003. I sent the injectors to Jonathan (Swamps) to be modified. He called me back to tell me that the barrels and plungers were scored. He recommended to upgrade them to the 530 size, so I would not need big oil. This was at a time when big oil was not readily available. The injectors came back as Hybrids-250/173. The injectors have been sitting wrapped up in my garage every since. Also sitting along side the injectors is a 17* SD HPOP.
Well, my injector O-rings are leaking. My fuel filter is coated black with oil and I'm down 4-6qts of oil per 3,000mi . My turbo pedistal is also leaking out of the EBPV rod.
I have a stock fuel system and stock turbo. Basically my motor is stock. I also have a 4 position Tony Wildman chip. I have a 7.3 aluminum tanked IC mounted but not plumbed. My trans has been replaced with a Suncoast trans triple disk converter.
I'm concerned about the Hybrids blowing headgasket. What should I do? I'm also thinking about sending the chip back to Tony and have him re-burn it for less fuel programming for the hybrids.
Since I have to remove the turbo, I'm thinking about getting a D66.
Opinions? Anyone running hybrids in a de-fueled state? If so, how is your fuel economy when keeping your foot out of it?
I am running stock fuel system, with a D66 and some hybrids, intercooler, etc...(see sig) the intercooler will help with the boost by about 5-7 psi lower...this is a daily driver
and wildman has it detuned for my lack of fuel system, the dd tune made 435 hp on the dyno, but there is little to no smoke on that tune....my Xtreme tune is way too much fuel for the stock system and it smokes like, well ya know....I did have an issue with the tranny and broke a 5R110 input shaft, but richter fixed all that up with a 300m, and modified the VB, so thats all good...TW also did his magic on the program with some shift strategy, so that the rpms stay up good and I can be on top of the turbo most of the time unless I lug it down in traffic...I have calculated 14.3 mpg on the highway, considerably less in town/traffic, maybe around 11. keep in mind I am running 35's with 3.55 gears...

The great thing about hybrid injectors is they're something you can grow into with the supporting modifications. You'll need to have your chip re-calibrated to properly support the hybrids; it won't run 'right' otherwise. Bottom line, go for it! You won't be disappointed.
