Possible injector upgrade

What size are the stock injectors and when stage 1, 2, 3 etc. injectors are mentioned, what sizes are these different stages? DIY injectors, how do you do them and what is involved? Any and all help is appreciated.

Re: Possible injector upgrade

Rodnely,

Stock injectors flow about 73cc with stock tuning and 98cc max with a chip. Stage ones flow about 150-160cc not sure on 2's and 3's. I don't know alot about the DIY injectors. I do know that quite a few members have done them and have been very pleased about the outcome. Do a search for DIY injectors and you should find alot of info.

Re: Possible injector upgrade

Stage III's are usually 235cc-250cc. Some stage I's, most stage II's and all III's the nozzles are modified with bigger holes to flow more fuel.

There are two ways to do DIY's. You can get the kit to modify your own, or you can get the pre-modified injectors. The kit involves you taking apart your injector all the way, getting a part machined at a machine shop, then you putting it back together. Keep in mind that it comes w/ excellent instructions and pictures.

If it was me, I would get the DIY's that are already modified, because at most you are only paying a little more to have him put it together by the time you account for your machining bill. Your truck will only be down for a few hours (while you put them in), as opposed to a couple of days (taking them apart, getting them to a machine shop, getting them back, and installing them) And you know it is put together right.

I went w/ the kit route and am very satisfied them
