Re: turbo outlet O-Ring

Put your boost line back on the hot side, you will get about a 5psi pressure drop across teh IC.

The oring will have to be gotten from Ford or IH. The GTS Spider doesnt mate up to the turbo real well so it may always leak oil and boost even with a new oring.

Re: turbo outlet O-Ring

Your boost drop is about right. I see about 5 psi difference between with and without the cooler. I see about 2 psi drop across the cooler and the rest of the drop is due to the cooling effect on the air shrinking it and makeing it have less pressure. I think I've had two people say they thought they had a leak. One was fixed by repositioning the Spyder so that it was squarely on the turbo flange. The other I got back and found that they place I had manufacture it used a piece of pipe with a seam in it wich made a dimple in the flange and it didn't seal right. They have since made sure that wasn't a problem.

Bean how many of those have you installed so far? Oh that's right I haven't sent any to you. I guess of all of them that are out there either people aren't reporting back to me of haveing a problem sealing or it just isn't problem to begin with.

Why are you replying to this Geoff, I dont see a sponsor tag under your name.

I have had reports back to me and also have held one in my hand and unless you have changed the spider from that one it will leak. The stock ypipe has more of a flat area on the inlet so that it will seal against the oring on the turbo, the one in the "GTS" kit is just belled can not seat right.

Oh and yes you have never sent one to me and there is a reason for that.

Re: turbo outlet O-Ring

Hey guys,

I know I have been away for awhile, but when did this become the SD forum?? We have always been good about getting along, even if we had differences. Hell, if we want to belittle each other, we can move up a couple forums!!

Lets keep this one civil and try to bite our tongue's once in awhile. We all have great advice and experience here. Lets just share it and get along with each other!!

I was just giveing technical advise. I didn't say anything about selling anything. Last I checked people with "a sponsor tag under your name" aren't supposed to comment on other peoples products. Mr. Lott just got a thread shut down for that very reason.

Yeah because the quality is above yours. I'd show pics to prove it but anyone can look in your sig to find them so I wont.

Re: turbo outlet O-Ring

Listen tinkerbell, I didnt bash your product or you, you are the one that took offense. I stated that it probably will not seal becase the flange will not seat on the oring properly.

I will let the Mods take care of the rules but I can tell you you are breaking them, also I can talk about any product as long as its not one by another sponsor, last I checked you are not one.

I give up, this is why people like Dale Isley quit posting here, try to bring in information and wind up looking like the bad guy.

Not sure how well the connection is(never seen a GTS kit), but you will need to get one from Ford. They are not normal O rings, they are High heat.

They are an unusual square cut red O-ring too. I would start with a new O-ring and work from there.
