I've got an Edge Evolution for my 97, but when i program it there's no increase in power no matter what level... It seems to run rougher, almost like there's a miss, and pukes the smoke(which i love, lol)... I've called Edge about my problem, but they say they've never heard of something like that. So they gave me another one thinkin it may be the programmer itself, but when i got it, same thing. I've tried a Superchip Programmer my uncle has in his 02.. It says "94-02 7.3" on the main screen of the Programmer, same thing... nothing. Don't know whats goin on, anybody with some advice would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks

When you program your truck when it is done does it do a burnout? And if you have gauges you should see a increase in your egt temp when you turn it up. On mine even between mode 1 and 2 there is a difference.

Check to see if you already have a chip installed and it is overriding the tuner..

my dad had the same problem and it had something to do with the computer in his truck, he called superchips and they said send it back and they'd read the codes of his computer and reburn the programmer to fit his truck. actually happened to about three people i know.

What are you expecting as far as a difference? It will not be like night and day and with out guages it is real hard to tell much difference. Even if the programer says that it will increase the horsepower by 120 horses our trucks will only make about 60 more unless you have some modified injectors. I tried a SuperChips on mine and the only real difference that I could see was that I was now able to see around 24 lbs of boost from my stock 18 lbs. As far as seat of the pants there wasn't that much.

If you still have that stock downpipe, don't expect a whole lot except hotter temps. It will sound a little rougher when you get to the RACE and EXTREME settings. It is a big difference from STOCK to RACE/EXTREME. Also your cat might be restricted - your choice on how to resolve that one.

With my edge evolution this weekend I pulled my travel trailer for the first time in the second mode (race) 80 hp. and 140 torque my egt were at around 1050 on the hills on the main roads and if you lug it down on the back roads in the corners and hills you have to let off or shift down to lower the egt temps. Dont know what you are pulling but mine made a big difference see what else I have done in my profie bellow.

So with TW chip what are your exhaust temps when pulling? I am normally pulling between 5000 and 16000 pounds. And how does your tranny and U joints hold up to 4 wheel burnouts?

I wouldnt do 4 wheel burnouts either. What mode are you running your chip on?And what modes did you have installed? I am looking at getting the TW chip but would like some info I will post a thread and get info just wondering what your input is?

I have a 6 position. Stock,Economy, daily, tow, extreme, high idle. I pull in tow. I do not think you will be disapointed with a TW chip.Call and talk to him to get some details before you order.
Hey Sorry I haven't replied to my own thread... computer crashed and had to get a new HD and ram...
The only truck I see doin a burnout is the little ford on the programmer lol..
But ya I don't have a downpipe YET(soon), I haven't wired up my gauges cuz i figured whats the point, I don't need them when I'm always on stock..
Its straight piped, There's no cat or muffler..
The turbo on my truck already winds up to about 23, 24 lbs of boost already... redlining of course
My buddy has the EXACT same truck, stock downpipe, yadda yadda.. even down to the same color, and his rips. You can tell the programmer is working on his truck, its friggin night and day.. With mine.. squat
I live in B.C. Canada, where does Wildman live? I'm assuming US, How much do they cost, shipppin incl?? If the programmer doesn't work, why would the chip? They both do the same thing "basically"..
Thanks everyone for your input so far, hope i responded to everyone ?'s
