On the 96 I just got, it has a isspro pyro. Its a little different than I have seen as their is no power to the gauge. Anyways, When I got the truck it was in the dp. And I could easy hit 900 deg. Now I moved it to the manifold today and I pegged it @ 1500deg upon medium acceleration. I their anything I can check to fix it. Or is their a way to calibrate it. I checked all the connections. Thanks for any input.

You have the old direct drive ISSPRO pyrometer. They are quite reliable and rarely go out of calibration. For proper calibration they must have 10 feet of ISSPRO's thermocouple wire. If the cable is shorter than 10 feet, is a heavier gauge wire, or has been replaced with copper wire the pyrometer will read high.
900 in the downpipe is not uncommon. My 95 would hit 1000 with stock tuning and downpipe plus foam air filter. But when I put the probe in the turbo up pipe It rarely went over 1200. Going from 900 to 1500 with only moving the probe position sounds strange.

There are a couple of different ISSPRO guages on DIS's web site. One is recomended after the trubo and the other is pre turbo. Look on the lower left side and if it has the model number of "R607VW" then it should be placed in the downpipe. I don't know what the diffeerence is but it could be in the calibrations.

Well, I know the lead isn't but 5 maybe 6 feet. So I bet its wrong. I'll just go buy a new Pyro I guess. I really don't like the gauge display. Its too hard to read for blind guys like me!
