Questions about Jody's Tuning

well after this paycheck i think im going to get a chip from Jody. I think il get the stock, 80 economy, and a 140. Which brings me to my question what is the difference between the 140 agressive and extream. Also does he provide a different shift strategy, for the autos?

thanks

Re: Questions about Jody's Tuning

Its better to get a BTS VB for the tranny. Then have the chip burned for TDO

Re: Questions about Jody's Tuning

I can't speak for jody's tunes however the extreme program I got from tony had a very nice idle to it. Kinda like a big cam gas motor. The truck rocked with each revolution of the motor it was nice. If you want to change your shift points. Jody should be able to help you. With your injectors you will need to be careful with the transmission. Which brings up a different group of answers. You can get a bts or you can rebuild it yourself and have it as strong if not stronger then a bts. No one builder of transmissions is better then the next. When it goes back in the truck it still has Ford on it.

A reman is just what it says. The parts that are in it that are beyond spec and replaced. So say a part is .70 thick. If its worn to .66 and the spec is .65 its not replaced. Just like if you buy a reman water pump, or a/c compressor. It might last 2k or 15k or 100k. All depends what was "worn". So when I work on the truck it gets new parts. This included the transmission. Just to give you a idea. The stock transmission was rebuilt/remaned at 93k
and again at 105k
and it was opened up at 107k for a loss of reverse.(which they said I broke the snap ring.
And finally I rebuilt it at 121k

Now when I opened the tranny up it still had factory ford parts in it. The wear parts had ford logo. And should have been replaced during the rebuild. The reverse snap ring that I broke was "straighted" and reinstalled. Seen here snap ring

Uh ok I have a Ford reman(I should add that this is a 4r100 with PTO port herd they where alittle stouter?) and it had 2000 miles on it when I got it all I did was replace the ford torque converter ans did pump mods and modded the vb . So far it is all good I have 4X4 launched it quite a few times and shes hanging in there plus I drive the truck pretty hard daily. Can't be all bad. I have almost 20,000 on it since I put it in the truck. I have a PI stallion converter just so yous know.

Re: Questions about Jody's Tuning

ok when i talked to dennis at ITP Diesel i told him i wanted the 140 tune and he said that he dosent advise it unless i have a fuel system and a bigger HPOP. he told me that they will just fall on their face if these areas arent addresed. so has anybody had a problem like this with the truck just puking out with the 140 tune????????

thanks

so back to my question is the 140 tune too much for the stock fuel and oil pumps to handle? has any body had any expierence with the 140 tune being too much or should it be ok.

Re: Questions about Jody's Tuning

You cannt get 140 out of stock injectors you run out of fuel. so yeah your truck will be maxed out and the computer is asken for more so it will fall on it face. You would be better off to just get a chip that will work well if your injectors. I have never dealt with jody. But I know that with tony wildman. You just let him know what you got in the truck and tell him what you want you truck to do. and he can set you up with the best your truck can do with what its got. I'm sure jody can do about the same think. I dont know never dealt with jody and I proably never will need to as long as tonys around.
