I believe it's the early '99 "Y" is the one you want. The early ones will connect up to our turbos with no modification. After mid '99 they are bigger.
I believe that is correct.

The reducer 2 3/8" to 2" boots to fit the intakes are best found @ an International dealer. 12 to 15 bucks each....
what about putting the bigger intakes on, will they mate up right then or are the bigger intakes too big? of could you just use intakes off of a early 99.

From what I understand, the bigger intakes are 3", the early 99 are 2" just like what we have. Some have said they have pushed intake spyder into the old 2" boots. I would feel better with the correct boots.

And to finish your question.Yes they fit fine. I mounted it up higher then the 99 and up intercooler.I use the GTS pipes and spyder and lower brackets. Had a friend cut 3 inches and weld the forward passinger side pipe since the ports on the intercooler are different from side to side(the passinger side is up higher then the driver).

One guy I read about, Tim's IC install maybe, used rubber shock bushings. Maybe there's some rubber thingies in the "Help" section of Autozone or O'Reillys. How about several layers of old inner tube. Maybe a piece of old tire sidewall.
You have a PM too.

pretty sure you can get those rubber vibration isolators from mcmaster-carr, thanks for reminding me I need to order a couple too
The grommets for the upper mounting ears were avaiolable from Ford but the price was outrageous, to the tune of $15/ea??? It was simply the money that pushed me to get creative!
Hope that is helpful...
God Bless,
TC
