Im installing a overhead console out of an explorer, I think I have all the parts I need but am unsure about the temperature sensor...I have cut a few off of some different explorers at the junk yard but it seems that every explorer I have seen has 2 of them right next to each other...they look identical so maybe either/or will work...the only difference visually are the wire colors...
They both have two wires coming out of them...
One has: Blue w/ White Tracer & Blue w/ Yellow Tracer
Second has: Pink w/ Black Tracer & Orange w/ Red Tracer
I am colorblind so those colors may not be perfect
I just read the whole thing and it says he used the blue/yellow and blue/white for the temp sensor.

Can you get the part number for either one of them? According to THIS WRITE UP F87Z-12A647-AA is the one to use.

The part number on the sensor is hard to make out but reading further down the write up, I found this...
Blue/Yellow
Blue/White
Temp Sensor:
These wires are to be ran to wherever you mount the temperature sensor. Some mount it inside the car, some outside.
Guess that answers my question Thanks Rodney
Aloha Casey-
just curious: I see that the Bronco looks like it has a slight "hump" in the ceiling in the picture and the overhead console seems to rest on this area. Whereas in our trucks we have have a flat/upward arching ceiling. So, I am curious as to how you will compensate for this? hope it goes well!
Mahalo,
Kyle

Shouldnt be a problem..I haven't modded mine at all to fit into my truck and when I stuck it up to the roof this evening it looks pretty darn close...a little shaving of the contoured part to fit around the trim piece and I should be A-OK...
