I read an article where somebody scalped all the disk hardware off a 99+ E-series. Even the flange was transplanted (welded). an't find it now
I've been thinking about this a lot since you posted that link, which I had never seen before.
I'm sure it won't bolt right up like it's shown, but where there's a will, there's a way, and I'm sure it's just a matter of making the correct bracket to make it work.

I used calipers and brackets off the front of a 2wd F-250, late 70's era. They bolt to the knuckle. If I remember correctly, there are three different calipers and brackets available on those trucks. I originally installed discs on a Dana 60, and with these caliper brackets it was a bolt on deal. On my Dana 70, I had to move the flange on the rear axle. I don't know how it would work on the 10.25's, but it would be something to check out. I also used '86 F-250 4wd front rotors. I think you would also be able to use the front caliper bracket off of a later 4wd, have a flange built to match it and weld the flange to the rear axle.

Why cant the rear brakes off a new super duty be bolted on and then just drill the newer metric bolt pattern into the rotors? Just curious? RB

the flange on the 10.25 axle is different than the flange on the 10.5 superduty axle. it could be done with some fab work and welding on a new flange then just using the Ford van rotor since the van rotor and the superduty rotor are the same other than the wheel stud spacing.
Edit: Now that I say that it sounds very easy to make a new axle flange and weld it on!! I might just have to look into that a little harder!

Leave it to Ford. leaving the flange the same would have been too easy. RB

The 10.5 uses a different yoke but that could be fixed with the correct u-joint. The biggest issue of the SD axle in the OBS is the bolt pattern for the wheels. You could get some wheel spacers/adapters to go from 8x170mm to 8x6.5" and that would fix the wheel issue.

I've been thinking about a SD rearend for the disc brakes AND the width is the same as our front so no spacers needed to make the track the same. BUT we have to ge the wheel pattern fixed w/o widening the track any more.........
