Re: remote mounted intercooler

Take a look at an ATS intercooler that mounts behind the bumper perhaps?

Re: remote mounted intercooler

i would have to cut up the radiator support and it made a lot different than a 1995 and up and cut up the front bumper for air

Re: remote mounted intercooler

Look close Travis, I have looked at this situation on my 91 IDI and there is an ATS cooler kit for the IDI. The core looks very close to the one for the 94 97 PSD. Also there have been posts from a guy who built his own system for an IDI with a SD cooler. I know what you are getting at as far as cuttin, but maybe done with class?

Re: remote mounted intercooler

You would really have to do some serious fab work and use a water-to-air cooler (and associated equipment) instead of an air-to-air cooler. Another option would be to see if any (and I can't remember his username ) of the posts for the "over the engine intercooler" posts are available (he was banned for going completely ballistic on the site a ways back). Needed a humongous hood scoop to cover it though. Cheers!

Re: remote mounted intercooler

There is an ad in Diesel Power this month that shows one. It's called "Shaker"7.3 Powerstroke intercooler and it's made by Jobe Performance.Looks trick, but I couldn't do it to my hood.
