welp everythings been but i think my HPOP just went out or something. truck is running rough, you can pull the covers and left side is spitting oil like it should pull the injector harness and it stumbles. right side is not spitting ouil like it should at all and when ya pull the injector harness nuthing happens. think im gonna order me another HPOP but just wanted to here ya'lls thoughts on this prob.
Sounds like it might be electrical. If the IDM finds a fault in the injector wiring on one side of the engine it will shut that side down. Even replacing the entire engine wiring harness will be cheaper than a new HPOP.
The first thing to check would be the plugs at the valve-cover gasket. First off, there should be no burnt pins. Secondly, use an ohm meter to check each pin as follows.
-the end pins (glow-plug) should read about 1/2 to 3 ohms to ground.
-the center three pins (injector solenoids) should read open-circuit to ground, and about 10-20 (I think) ohms from the center pin to each of the two adjacent pins.
It might also help to find someone with a scanner that can read the codes from the IDM. That might help narrow down the fault.

I agree that it is electrical on that side of engine. As stated under valve cover harness or connectors are good bet as your problem. Pull off oil filler and smell the valve cover for burnt wire.

well there is one burnt at the front right valve cover. been like that for a couple years now. i did pull the codes i forgot to add them. it gave me a fualt on the cam position senser. even if you reset the codes and then pull that harness to the front right 2 injectors it's still makeing it run rough. where ya'll suggest for the cheapest place to buy a harness. Powerstrokeshop.com.

You should be aware that glow plugs cause these wire to melt and if your g plugs are in there for a while you should consider doing all g plugs, under valve cover harness's and valve cover gaskets plus any outside valve cover connectors that are burnt.

the glow plugs where replaced about 2 years ago and hadn't had any plobs out of them. but that pin that is burnt is on the outside harness connector. i swaped the gaskets and it still done the same thing even with a different gasket. sin't checked the Ohms yet got dark outside and the shop has a tractor in it. o ya the pin the is burnt is the very first pin at the front of the motor right front. don't know if it s a injector pin or g-plug

picking up some new connetors and pins this afternoon from international, if it still does the same thing after replace the connectors then what should be the next step. just trying to stay one step ahead. i also had a fualt on the CPS ya'll think that might be a prob too.

if you are still having trouble with oil not spitting out then I would check the injectors on that side as you might have a loose poppet screw
Just remove the 4 screws on top of injector and pull off solenoid. The screw in center should be tight. If loose the injector is not working.
