SCMT question - error trying to load...... - Diesel Forum

I sold a SCMT 1700 which worked fine for me (I used it for a couple of years). I got a 1705 so I didn't need it. When he tried loading it he had the following problem:"Tried four times and when it gets to the end of saving stock program, it kicks the glow plugs on and gives me an error indicating Communications Problem."
What would cause that? His truck is just like mine, only a 95. I am positive the cable and programmer are good since I just used it two weeks ago. I loaded my truck back to stock before I loaded the 1705 on my truck.

Will it communicate w/your truck again? That will show weather its your pcm or his pcm that that won't read it.

If his truck is a early 95' he may need to have the PCM flsahed. This will allow the OBDII port to work.

Its my truck. If I need a reflash, do I have to go to the dealer and if so do they normally charge for that.
