SD springs, what years?

I've been looking at SD spring codes for a while now and think I have finally figured things out. Just want to summarize here to make sure I got it.

Front Springs -
Should be either V, W or X codes depending on how much lift you want. These can be found on 1999-2007 F250 and F350.

Rear Springs -
Should be either B or F codes. B codes can be found on 1999-2004 F250 and F350. F codes can be found on 2006-2007 F250 and F350. Not sure what the 2005s had.

Is this correct? Anyone know the part numbers for these if I were to get them from Ford? I see the Excursion guys down below are modding their rear Bs and Fs. Would this be required for the trucks?

Thanks,
Shawn

You got it! Modding the rear springs on a SD truck is a option for a small weight capacity and lift.
Installing SD springs on a OBS will make it ride as good as a SD does!

How much of a lift does the Super Duty rear springs add? I have a 3" RSK I'm putting on my 97 350 and was wondering if I could get away with doing the rear Super Duty springs to level it off instead of blocks.

Thanks
Rob

Basically the amount of lift you will get. I think the X will give you +1.5" - 2" over the V. Do a search though as there is a lot of info here.

I thought the 3" RSK with SD springs on the OBS F350 would make the truck level. Meaning you wouldn't have to raise or lower the rear. I thought only the OBS F250 had to have the rear raised to sit level when doing the RSK. I may be wrong though. Anyone else?

Nope. Going to need a 4.5" - 5" block if you are going to use "F" codes. Or stack a 1" block on top of the factory F350 block.

Billy,

Did the Fs raise or lower the ride height in the rear? By how much? Do you know what effect Bs would have on rear ride height?

Thanks,
Shawn

I can't give you a direct answer on this. I did the "F" codes the same time as I did the 3" RSK w/ "V" codes. I had a stock F350 3.5" block and had to stack a 1" block to give it a slight rake. The SD springs were all new and they will settle over time.
