Shocks and other things.

I'd like to replace the shocks in the truck. The shocks in the rear are beat to hell.. The ones in front don't even match. It sort of looks like it sags a little in the front too but I don't know if this is from the shocks or the camber in the wheels. I'm looking for good, reliable and economical. I've had the truck for a few months now... also I'm noticing a small oil leak that is coming from somewhere around the pan.. From what I've read the engine needs to be pulled to evaluate this or replace the gasket.
Also looks to have developed a small leak in the transfer case.. Any recommendations for checking this out? Thanks!

Re: Shocks and other things.

I went with Monroe Reflex shocks on mine and think they're great. Noticed a difference right from the start. Mine leaks a bit from the dip stick. If that's where it's coming from you can change the gasket out if you're careful.

International sells a dipstick tube repair kit. No pulling the engine! Basically it replaces a the rubber o ring on the inside of the pan with a gasket and Loctite on the outside of the pan. Just did mine a few weeks ago. Seems to work pretty good and was overall fairly easy. Just got to be careful...

The oil pan itself does not have a gasket... but you will have to pull the motor to reseal it with silicone it that is where it is leaking from.
