Simple question about injectors

Can I upgrade to stage 1 injectors without any other mods like increased HPOP flow or a performance chip? In other words will my stock truck with 212K most likely run stage 1's ok assuming the HPOP and fuel pump are up to snuff?

Re: Simple question about injectors

Yes, without a chip stage 1's will perforn jusk like a stock injector. With a chip you may have to upgrade to a SD HPOP to keep from setting the CEL. The stock fuel system will support stage 1's with no problem.

So there will only be a minimal increase in power and efficiency with a stock truck running Stage 1's?

Re: Simple question about injectors

I have BDP Stage I's in my truck that is basically stock. There is no issues in anyway with them. Truck runs great. My next upgrade will be to the 17* HPOP.

When I put them in my truck it seemed like I have much better acceleration but that might be due to a couple weak injectors.

Re: Simple question about injectors

My truck with 215,000 runs out of oil at 28-3000 rpms with stage1's so yes you will need a pump sooner or later.

Re: Simple question about injectors

This is good news since all eight injectors are being done right now. I didn't think I'd have any issues but wanted to run it by the experts.
Things have to be happening out of the ordinary for me to reach 3K RPM, I drive around like a grandpa, I'm thinking about killin a feline and going straight pipe so if this thing sounds like some I've heard then I may find it hard to resist the temptation to goose it a little once in a while.

Re: Simple question about injectors

I second the downpipe. The exhaust and intake on these trucks pretty much suck in stock form. You neeeeed to upgrade both of these BEFORE you get a chip.

My results exactly. The truck improved with new stage 1's and no chip. Dale I from TYMAR will tell you fueling WILL increase with stage 1's. and stock program. I kinda believe it was old worn injectors vs new crisp ones.....

I was under there today putting the Cat back on looking at that flat P.O.S. hanging there wishing I had one to put on, but, I gotta pace my spending. A guy can rap a whole lot of green up in one of these trucks in a hurry!

The injectors are on thier way home, I'll let ya'll know how they fire.
