Those Lightnings are fun little trucks! My bro has an '01. It moves pretty good. We put a blower pully, intake and a chip in it and man it made a huge difference! I did all that along with a new Accufab throttle body and the truck already had exhaust on another one and that thing ripped too!

Yes there was one of those out at Bandamere. He was running in the low 14's It was cool to see Blow by Actually drive his up to the line (the lightning was pushed up) and spank that lil' ol' lightnings times.
I will stick to the oil belchers.

Nope, serious as cancer. And wacker, i havent ditched diesels all together, still have a 6liter that is pretty stock, tuner and exhaust. I just really was ready for something different. The Deezel was the point to gain anything was going to start costing serious money, big oil, big air, big fuel.

must have been something wrong with it. Was it a first gen or was it a '99 or newer? The '99-'00 were pretty quick but the '01-'04 trucks had a bit more power and better gearing. They run low to mid 13s stock. The guy must have not been able to drive it very well or something. I know my bro.s would blow away a stock one as we went to the 1/8 and there was one there with just exhaust and a chip with slicks and he'd get my bro out of the hole but my brother was pulling on him HARD at the end of the track. A 1/4 mile run he would have had him by a lot.
Well, the dealer just called a few hours ago, they already sold the truck, while i was waiting for approval from my bank. So, its plan b...

out of curiosity, what did you end up getting for your truck?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, honestly, i got 15,500 out of it, the kid really wanted it, i did some math, and was able to eliminate some debt with it, so i told him that is what it was worth to me, so he bought it. He has known me since i bought the truck, and has seen everything i have done to it.

Sorry to hear of your loss Dusten...as you probably won't have the interest in hanging here once she's gone...which of course is our loss.
Of course you'll never find me in any "car" as aren't cars for women?
Other than drag cars I mean.
I like the "sittin' high" feeling of a truck, and having the ability to head out in the hills if I want, but I can understand the need to lower debt...as we've all been there at one time I'm sure.
Nothin' like having lots of metal around you these days, and some power to boot!
Best of luck Dusten on whatever venture you end up with!
Thanks for the fond farewell dale, as you are one of my favorite people on here. I still have the 2003 6liter, so the car isnt the only mod, i can head to the hills, my bronco in tow. plus, this car is going to be easier on my backside on the 110 mile round trip i drive every day for work

You do have a point there. I did a little looking and they run high 13s stock generally. So I guess that sounds about right.

Well I'll have to agree with you for the most part Dale and yes I like the up high ride of my truck but there are defineatly a few cars I'd love to have. The one he's getting wouldn't be a bad one at all. Then you always have the women that drive turcks! Well those are the ones that if you can find them you better hold on real tight!
