Soooo close to getting the motor fired up

After getting back from a 10-day business trip we dove back into the truck throwing parts everywhere. We turned the key last night to check the electric fuel system and the only thing that leaked was a fitting that I had made local . So we stopped for the night and I'll have the fitting redone today so we can get back at it tonight.
The plan for tonight is to fire it up for the first time and look for oil leaks. I only have the down pipe on for now and I'll have to re-do my 5" exhaust to fit around the bronco tank but that’s easy stuff.

Nope, your brazing was perfect, I needed a close 90 off the pass head because of the tranny dip stick. I couldn't use the straight then a 90, I had to make my own 90 right off the head. I even took yours down and I told him I wanted the braze to look EXCATLY like this one .

I just got a call from home and the new 90 is holding the 70psi of fuel and the rest of the fuel system is dry as a bone!! I guess I'll be turning the key in about 2 hours.

I have a friend that might be able to host the million pic's I've taken over this entire re-build (about 2 1/2 months worth) so when I get them sorted and delete the one's with flying tools and me kicking stuff I'll post a link.
If I can do an easy break-in on the motor I should be able to make the (re-scheduled race) on Aug 31st and see if we can make some of these “other name brand trucks” take notice, lol.

Re: Soooo close to getting the motor fired up

Jim,
That fitting should have fit on either side of the back of the heads.
Was it close? Could you have tweeked the dip stick tube?

Not with the 3 1/2 Down pipe. I've already tweaked the dip stick tube and pushed my firewall so much it tore in 3 places and bent the dashboard support into a "V" shape , so needless to say I'm real limited on room. (I took some pic's of this also)
