Stacks out of the hood?

I have an interest in putting 1 stack on the passenger side of the hood... And was wondering.. Is it do able?
Have any of you done it? How much work did it take..?
is there a kit?
Also it seems it would be a tight bend in the pipes.. could this resstrct it some how?

By the way, this is my first post.. and hope to get to know you all and look forward to learning from you aswell..

Re: Stacks out of the hood?

It could be done.

I thought about it too, but you will have soot ALL over yer window and top of your truck. Just something to think about.

Best of luck,

It is possible, but I dont think it would be DOT approved. How funny would that be though, trying to drive thru a black cloud of smoke with the wipers on!!

Re: Stacks out of the hood?

Most, if not all local & state laws state the exhaust must exit behind the passenger compartment, so it would be for show/off road use only if you did the hood stack.

Re: Stacks out of the hood?

There is videos of a truck on some of the other sites that has 2 stacks coming out of hood. Actually it has no hood at all so I guess they are just coming out of engine bay. It is a daily driver from what I understand and if you see the vids you would see it smokes like a freight train. I think they are cool looking. Re: Stacks out of the hood?

I wouldnt see how you would have enough room to put a CAT on, its illegal not having a CAT, though I dont run one its kinda obvious when its right there, I could see for sled pulling

Re: Stacks out of the hood?

CAT=Catalytic Converter, and it would be interesting to see one sticking out of a trucks hood, the passenger would have a bad view!

Re: Stacks out of the hood?

DZLJIM did it w/ one of his trucks, and I think he said that he went down and got it IM'd w/ no troubles...

But I dont think it is very practical (yet it looks killer )
