Re: stacks in the rain??

I myself do not have stacks, but I have heard that its not really a problem once you start driving. If it were ME (i tend to worry anyway) I would just put shower caps or something over them when its raining (or some other plug of your choice)

Good Luck,
Casey

drill 1/8" hole in the lowest part of the elbow under the truck and it will all drain out.

Re: stacks in the rain??

When I built my stacks I just left a few small areas not welded on the bottom of the collector tube. I have went out after long hard rains and looked down into the stacks and everything was dry.

Later,
Darrell

Re: stacks in the rain??

the fun part about rain in your stacks is the steam that comes out when you get on it at first. ...the guy thati bought my stack setup off of welded a small pipe with a cap on the bottom. theres pics in my sig.

Re: stacks in the rain??

i havent had problems with it actually spraying out from whatever rain was collected in there, unless it rains alot, but almost always upon start up pieces of soot break free and float out and rest on the truck and when its wet they turn into a blob of black paint but if it just rained and you get on her, it can coat the bed sides, bug and tar remover cleans it up really well.

Re: stacks in the rain??

I had 5" stacks on my 350 and I just got two coffee cans that fit over them and painted them red to match the truck, didn't look too bad.
