Hi everyone,
I just discovered that one of my injectors is shot, now i just replaced these injectors about 1 1/2 years ago and so far I've had to send 2 of them back to get fixed. So i have decided that i don't want to deal with them anymore, and i wanted to get bigger injectors anyway.
after searching some threads on here, i think i want to go with the Stage 1 injectors from Beans Diesel Performance. what do you guys think?
I have a Tymar Intake, 3in downpipe, 4in exhaust, some turbo work, a Tony Wildman chip, and a Pyro, Boost, and tranny temp gauge so i can monitor everything. my tranny is still the stock tranny and i was planning on running it till it goes. when that time comes i was planning on going with an ATS tranny. i have a few friends that went with ats and love it, however i have read some mixed reviews on here about them, what is the best tranny to go with?
also will my HPOP be able to keep up with these injectors? its a brand new pump, but just a stock replacement.
Thanks for any input!!
Mike

You'll love 'em. I'm running Stage 2's with the stock HPOP and it keeps up. Bean is great, you won't go wrong there. You may want to have Tony reburn your chip for the larger injectors. At least give him a call and see what he says. If you've got 262k out of your stock tranny, it definitely won't be around long with the bigger sticks .
Most guys on here seem to like BTS or Suncoast or even John Wood transmissions. I'm sure ATS builds a good one too, I've just never bothered to research much cause I've got a 5-speed.

Thanks alot Justin,
yea i actually got 288,000 on it now i havent updated my sig in a bit. i think the guy that i bought the truck off of put a rebuilt tranny in it, but its just a stock rebuild so its nothing special. i actually want to put a better tranny in it anyway to eliminate the slippage and all and utilize all of the power so when she goes it will be a perfect opportunity!
would you recommend the remain stage 1 or the new ones. im kind of leaning towards the new ones because of the luck i had with my last set of remain injectors but if its not worth the extra $$$ then ill settle for the remain ones.
Thanks again for the advice much appreciated!!
Mike

is there anything that i should worry about or pay attention to with these injectors? outside of the mods ive listed i havent done anything else to my truck, i know i have to pay attention to my tran temp, egt, and boost. what temps and pressures should i keep them below? ive been told some numbers before but i just want to double check! what about my head bolts should i have any problems with them with these injectors?
thanks again for the input!!

I went with the remans to save money. Personally, I don't think you'd go wrong if you did decide to get remans. Ryan Casserly builds the injectors for Bean, and his specs on them coming out of his shop are tighter than what they are for brand new ones from Ford/IH. I think his have to flow within 3 cc of each other, while factory is like 7-8.
Not sure on trans temp, but you can run your exhaust temps around 1300 all day and not hurt anything, and even higher than that for short bursts. A lot of people say if you go over 25 psi on your stock turbo you're on borrowed time, but I've been doing it for several years and at 195k I still have the original turbo. I hit mid 30s now, and I've heard of people hitting 45 .
Factory head bolts are good to about 40 psi, so you won't have to worry about those.

You've been really helpful!! ill be ordering those real soon and cant wait to put them in my truck!
I talked to Tony yesterday about the injectors, he said that the chip will work fine with the new injectors but for max performance to send the chip back to him which is what i was planning on doing anyway!
Thanks again!!

If I were you I would go with stage 2's. And then just have them tuned down to what you like. Because if your like me, you will want more that stage 1's after a while.

I'm lucky enough to live about 30 minutes from Bean, so I just took my truck to him. If I remember correctly though, once I told him I wanted them he had them in a couple of days. So you should see them pretty quick.

how much did the banks inter cooler cost? or pipes at least?
Thanks Guys
Mike

All my questions answered on this thread. Wife approved injectors, so looks like Beans reman Stage 2s, D66, and a TW chip for me in the very near future! I'd like to go Stage 3 tuned down, but that would mean big oil, electric fuel and lots of mods...and lots of $$$$
where is a good place to go for injectors???? that is the next thing to do on my list
