I think some guys on here have found some 3.08s for the Sterling rear axle. That's where your choices are limited, you can get just about anything for the Dana.

By the time you buy em for the front and rear diffs, I would try to find an overdrive unit reasonable.

Ya I could to, just that the d50 IFS is a PITA to work on I think. What gears do you have now?

If you have 355s and 354s I think you will be sorely disappointed in the mpg gained for dollar invested. Wanting to change because of 5.00 a gallon diesel I guess?

Im solving the fuel problem with paying $3.49 gal, B100. Regearing your truck that low would really hurt your towing. If ya want good mpg get a prius, lol, ya dont by a 7.3l to drive across the country on 1 tank of gas, lol

This is the one I'm interested in: Dual Range Auxiliary Transmissions, Overdrive and Underdrive

Sounds like the GV has some reliability issues.

Yea, it ain't cheap, but it is heavy duty! Gotta do the DSs yourself. Another good thing is w/it between the trans and t-case you can use it in 4wd.

3.54 is the tallest for the D50 and D60(High pinion)

If you get into a low-pinion D60 axle you can go up to 3.31. A Dana 61 goes to 3.07.
