Finally put enough miles on the new tranny that I could get back on the trailer. Ambient air temp was around 80-85, tranny temp was pushing 205 or so. This was weighing approx 18,000 gross running in some hills. Empty with air temp around 90 it was running 180. She runs about 165 or so with no trailer. Do I need a bigger cooler? I will probably make the same run a few times this summer with hotter air temps.

Those temps are fine. You can run up to 220°F all day long. You can go as high as 250°F for no more than a half hour at a time. If it does get too hot DO NOT SHUT THE ENGINE OFF. Idle or fast idle in P or N to cool it off.
Mark is the man to ask when it comes to the trans. My temperature runs close to yours I was running 209 on some steep grades in the smokies pulling 16k a few weeks ago and was wondering the same about by he temps
