Re: Turbo intake rubber boot

There used to be some guy on eBay that was selling a replacement one but for some reason I can't find him again. I wish I could find the link so I could find the sellers name. Some had a link posted up a few months back. It was just the tube and it was about $60 shipped. One know the sellers name?

Re: Turbo intake rubber boot

For some reason I can find him again!!!! I would say if it is the blue 2-ply fiberglass reinforced one it is all good. That is what we use on a lot of our boosted Honda's.

Re: Turbo intake rubber boot

What about the 2 orange hoses from turbo to intake? Will the hoses from intakehoses.com work to replace those? I measured 2"id and about 3" long.
Thanks

Re: Turbo intake rubber boot

Only thing you would need to worry about is if they can take the oil mist from the breather on our trucks. I don't think they are made to resist it. If I end up getting some for an Intercooler conversion (same, but the stepped boots), I will probably reroute the breather to the exhaust system vice the intake. Cheers!

Re: Turbo intake rubber boot

Hey Patrick -

That was my question, too. Is silicone compatible with oil?

Next Q: would re-routing the breather into the exhaust screw up your emission test? (We don't have them in this part of Ohio, but I'm guessing all of CA probably does...)

Josh

Re: Turbo intake rubber boot

No, the silicone hoses are not compatible with oil. Bob at www.dieselsite.com and www.dieselpowerproducts.com has boots that are not bothered by oil.

Guys, if you are worried about the mist then you should check out the CCV mod here; http://forums.thedieselstop.com/ubbt...umber=2327255. don't let the 99and up alarm you. My Dad did the mod on his '97 just to keep the oil out of his system. Later he added the Banks intercooler. this helps keep the boots on the intercooler tubes.

Keep Strokin'
