Upgrades to 97 PSD suggestions

Hi all, well I'm tracing down a couple of issues on my stock 97 F350 PSD 5spd (168000mi), comp about 400 psi on all, and am looking for anyone else's exp in upgrading this beast. So far I've come up with:
1: Get more air in and more air out with intake and exhaust (4") mods
2: Gut EBPV
3. Replace injectors with at least AA single shot (engine still has original inj's)
4. Reflash PCM to add fuel and adjust timing
5. Replacing fuel pump while there, as well as any other maint.

This should add a little extra oomph, yes?

Anyone's input on the pros or cons of this will be appreciated!

Jeff

You are close to the right track. Your #1 is good but #2 should be a set of gauges a boost and an EGT so you can see what the engine is doing. I wouldn't worry too much about the EBPV unless you are having problems with it. If you are then take care of it when you do a downpipe and exhaust. #3 would be a 4 posistion chip from Total Diesel Performance then when you go to some larger injectors you can get the chip reburnt. You may also need to go to a 17* HPOP. As far as the fuel pump it depends on where you really want to go. The stock pump in fine for light mods but depending on the injectors you may want to look at an electric pump.
