Voltmeter Gauge wiring

I have a voltmeter that I want to install. Does anyone have any tips on were to pull the power draw for the gauge? I would like to get as close as a reading from the stock in-dash voltmeter (idiot gauge) as possible. Anyone have any idea on where the stock dash picks up the reading from?

You should be able to use any 12V ignition switched source.
