You MUST get a adjustable track bar..either cut yours in half and thread and use a tie-rod adjuster sleeve or just buy one.
Drop pitman arm is a good idea, longer SS brake lines are a great upgrade nice but not necessary for a RS kit.

Cary, I was wondering about the adjustable track bar. When I did my Dana-60, the track bar was the last thing I installed and the bolts went right in with no problem. I have not had the truck aligned yet, but it looks staight and tracks down the road straight. Thanks

Re: What else do I need for RSK w/SD springs

I think you are OK since you installed the SKY plate to drop the trac bar bracket, thus returning everything to it's proper relationship.

Re: What else do I need for RSK w/SD springs

As long as you can install the track bar with the truck sitting on the ground after you have drove it back 20' and forward 20', then it "should" be ok but check your axel to make sure its centered.

Re: What else do I need for RSK w/SD springs

Thanks guys, two weeks ago I removed the track bar and moved the track bar bracket back 3/4 (was hitting sway bar a little) I didnt move the truck but the bolts went back in with no problem, but I'll try backing up and pulling ahead and see what happens. Thanks

Frank

Re: What else do I need for RSK w/SD springs

I have a question about drilling the spring bushings to 3/4"...Does anyone know if new bushings are available that have a 3/4" hole in them? I have a spring shop here by me and have used them before...My Deaver 8" rear springs showed up with the wrong bushings in them for my Super Duty/Excursion lift kit. I tried to drill out the bushings larger but they where HARD! So I spent $35.00 and had 4 correct bushings pushed in.

I can just take the springs there and ask them...But I figured I would ask here first to see if anyone else went this route.

Brent.

Re: What else do I need for RSK w/SD springs

I belive the situation is reversed. The SD springs have bigger bolts than the OBS. So the brackets and shackles have to be drilled out, not the bushings.

That's what I thought I would run into. I am going to guess the suggestion to drill the bushings is due to the metric size? Then you could bolt it up with 3/4". There's enough metric stuff on this truck I always cary both sets of wrenches anyway. I may go with the drill brackets to 18mm (or whatever).

Any problem with that?

Re: What else do I need for RSK w/SD springs

I just bought the Metric SD spring eye bolts from Powerstroke shop, then I will drill the hangars. Regular bolts would work, but for the few $ I just went with the stock SD stuff.

That's what I'm gonna do too. I'm just gonna pony up the extra $$ to make less work for myself. You might beat me to this one john, however I did just order my shocks and I'm going to pickup my drop pitman arm tomorrow.

No, you'll beat me since I will have build a custom front bracket with no bumper relocation that puts the axle back exactly in stock position, while giving tow hooks and a factory built look........

Re: What else do I need for RSK w/SD springs

I only had to drill the rear bushings to 3\4 I believe I used 5/8 in the front or it might have been the other way around, my memory is shot, but it only took me about 5 minutes to drill out both bushings. If I had the time I would have ordered the SD bolts. Good luck

Re: What else do I need for RSK w/SD springs

Your right...you only need to drill the leaf bushings if you want to use 3/4" bolts. If you get the SD bolts then you only need to drill the bracket and shackles out to 18mm? and 16mm? respectively. I don't know how much the SD bolts are but its not like grade 8 3/4"X5-1/2" bolts are free either, and a good 3/4" bit cost me $25. I would have bought the Ford bolts if I had the time.

Take care.
