Re: What to get for new exhaust?

I would go with 4" from the dp back with no muffler. I think it sounds great, thats what i have on my truck. I really don't think its loud in the cab at all.

Re: What to get for new exhaust?

I would go with the 4 inch stainless MBRP from www.horsepowerupgrades.com - a site sponsor. the stainless is best for us wisconsin guys. I have it on two trucks and love it. It replaces your current downpipe, but you could easily sell your current 3 incher.

Re: What to get for new exhaust?

You can forget the muffler...It really isn't needed for noise abatement as long as you go all the way to the rear bumper....I went with open 4" pipe from the missing cat to the rear bumper and it has lots more power without much more noise...I guess the turbo absorbs the pop and racket I expected.

In fact, my 5.7 Silverado with cat and cat-back duals and no mufflers is lots louder than my big 444 diesel with no cat or muffler....go figure.

If your state is anal and requires a muffler, then go with one that is straight thru...hold that sucker up to the light and if you can see thru it, then bolt it on...If it's oval shaped and you see no daylight, forget it.

You are good to go with stock 3.5 exhaust once you remove the muffler and cat or punch out the cat....It won't be too loud or offer any restriction until you go with a huge turbo and lots bigger injectors....any local muffler shop can fix you up lots cheaper than a mail order bolt on as long as you just remove the restrictions.

Re: What to get for new exhaust?

Thanks arffdiesel, unfortunately we do not offer a behind the downpipe back, but we do have great prices on complete exhaust systems. I am sure you would not have trouble selling the unused DP on here.
