What kind of clutch and flywheel

Well its taken 9.5 yrs of abuse but it just cant take no more. I need to get a clutch and a flywheel for my 97 350. I was woundering what people have tried and what seems to work the best. I think I am like most people on here. I play with my truck, hit 8 or 9 truck pulls, and use it around the farm to haul things. I think I want to go with something that if I end up putting more HP in it the clutch will not be the weak link! I know I want to get rid of the dampend flywheel cause I'm tired of it making noise and shaking the truck at idle. Also think I want a double disc? I guess I would just like to know what everyone else has tried and how it has held up! Oh and how much $?

Re: What kind of clutch and flywheel

Only one place to go IMHO South Bend Clutch. They have single and dual disc clutches. Lots of candy to choose from. Go here...

Re: What kind of clutch and flywheel

I have a LUK setup and there are quite a few guys on the board running LUK's, have had good luck with them as well as the South Bend, there is a regular LUK or a Cerementalic LUK, the Cerementalic I recommend if you plan on doing injectors, chip, etc if your going to pump the power to it, otherwise the regular LUK is good.

Re: What kind of clutch and flywheel

I was thinking of getting the OFE for my 97. the flywheel is starting to go south in it. i play on doing stage 2 injectors down the road and i'd also plan on pulling a couple times a year. would the OFE be a good choice?

Thanks Ben

Re: What kind of clutch and flywheel

I've never pulled but I'm sure it will be just fine for that... it will handle a buttload of power and it's not very grabby. Okay it is a bit the first time you drive it after using the stocker. I think it'll be great for you.

I couldn't be happier with it. Especially since every time I shut my truck down with the DMFW it went bang-clunkratatattacka tat-tat---tat.

Re: What kind of clutch and flywheel

Not at all... um, if I can remember though. I think it ran about 9 bills.

Dunno how much you plan to pull though, I heard if more than a few times a year a double disc clutch would be a good idea. I wouldn't be one to know anything about that stuff though, way beyond me.

Re: What kind of clutch and flywheel

Like I said I never have pulled but I seriously don't think there would be any problems with that. The OFE is one of the best things I've done for my truck!

Well, so are the injectors, SD HPOP, and the chip.

I hope someone else can chime in though.
